1Introduction
These Terms and Policy ("Terms") govern enrollment and continued attendance at Unique and Fine International Schools ("the School", "we", "us"), a private, missionary-based, co-educational boarding institution located in Enugu, Nigeria, operating in accordance with the principles and teachings of the Catholic Church. By submitting an application, enrolling a student, or making use of any School facility or service, the parent or guardian and the student agree to be bound by the Terms set out on this page.
2Admission Policy
Admission into the School is subject to successful completion of the application process, including submission of required documents (passport photograph, birth certificate, and most recent academic report), payment of the prescribed application fee, and, where applicable, an entrance examination and/or interview.
The School reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to decline any application. Application and registration fees, once paid, are strictly non-refundable.
3Tuition, Fees & Payment
Tuition and boarding fees are payable in full, or in line with a payment plan approved by the Bursary, before the commencement of each term. A student may not resume classes or boarding until fees are settled or an approved payment arrangement is in place.
Fees are reviewed periodically, and any changes will be communicated to parents and guardians in writing ahead of the affected term. Late payment may attract a surcharge as determined by the School.
4Withdrawal & Refund Policy
A parent or guardian wishing to withdraw a student must submit written notice to the School Administration. Tuition and boarding fees already paid for a term in progress are non-refundable once the term has commenced, save for exceptional circumstances considered at the sole discretion of School Management.
Admission and registration fees are non-refundable under all circumstances.
5Code of Conduct & Discipline
All students are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the Christian values and moral standards upheld by the School. Acts of indiscipline, dishonesty, disrespect to staff or fellow students, or conduct that undermines the moral and spiritual ethos of the institution will be addressed through the School's disciplinary procedures.
Depending on severity, disciplinary action may include counselling, sanctions, suspension, or, in serious or repeated cases, expulsion. The School maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline.
6Boarding & Residential Life
As a fully boarding institution, students are required to reside on campus during term time except where an exeat or other authorized leave has been granted. Boarding students must comply with dormitory rules, lights-out schedules, and the daily routine established by the House and Boarding Masters/Mistresses.
Personal items brought into the hostel remain the responsibility of the student, and the School shall not be liable for their loss or damage.
7Uniform & Dress Code
Students are required to appear in the approved School uniform during school hours and at official School functions, and to maintain a neat and modest appearance in keeping with the School's values. Uniform specifications, including sportswear and Sunday/Mass attire, are obtainable from the School Administration.
8Attendance & Leave of Absence
Regular attendance is compulsory. Any request for a student to leave the campus during term time (exeat) must be made in writing by a parent, guardian, or an authorized guardian listed on the student's admission file, and is subject to approval by the School Administration.
Unauthorized absence from School or from the boarding house will be treated as a disciplinary matter.
9Academic Policy & Assessment
The School operates a three-term academic session in line with standard Nigerian curriculum requirements, with continuous assessment and end-of-term examinations. Promotion to the next class is based on the student's overall performance across the session.
Parents and guardians will receive termly academic reports and are encouraged to attend Parent-Teacher meetings.
10Health, Safety & Medical Policy
Parents and guardians must disclose, at the point of admission, any medical condition, allergy, or special need affecting the student, and must promptly update the School of any change.
The School's Sick Bay/Clinic provides first-line medical attention. Where a student requires further medical care, the School will contact the parent or guardian and, where necessary, arrange transfer to a hospital, with associated costs borne by the parent or guardian unless otherwise agreed.
11Anti-Bullying & Child Protection
The School is committed to providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for every student. Bullying, harassment, or any form of abuse — physical, verbal, or otherwise — will not be tolerated and will be addressed promptly under the School's child protection and disciplinary procedures.
Students and parents/guardians are encouraged to report any concerns to the School Administration or the Guidance and Counselling unit without fear of reprisal.
12Visitation & Communication Policy
Visitation to boarding students is permitted only on designated visiting days, and visitors must appear on the student's approved visitors' list. Telephone communication with boarding students is regulated according to the schedule communicated by the Boarding House at the start of each term, to protect study time and daily routine.
13Use of Photographs & Media Consent
The School may, from time to time, photograph or record students during School activities, events, and functions for use on the School's website, social media, newsletters, and promotional materials. By enrolling a student, parents and guardians consent to such use unless a written objection is submitted to the School Administration.
14Data Privacy Policy
Personal information submitted during admission and throughout enrollment is collected and used solely for administrative, academic, health, and safety purposes related to the student's education. The School takes reasonable measures to safeguard this information and does not sell or share personal data with third parties, except where required by law or necessary for the student's welfare.
15Property & Liability
The School exercises reasonable care in the supervision of students but shall not be held liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal property, nor for injury arising from a student's own misconduct or failure to observe School rules. Parents and guardians are encouraged to insure valuable personal items where necessary.
16Termination / Expulsion
The School reserves the right to suspend or terminate a student's enrollment where there has been a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, the School's Code of Conduct, or non-payment of fees, following due process. Where enrollment is terminated by the School for disciplinary reasons, fees already paid are not refundable.
17Amendments to These Terms
The School reserves the right to review and amend these Terms and Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, School Management decisions, or operational needs. Updated Terms will be published on this page and, where the change is material, communicated directly to parents and guardians.
18Governing Law & Contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. For any questions regarding these Terms and Policy, please reach the School Administration through the details provided on our Contact page.
